Special merit

The year starts very well for me :-). I received an email letting me know that my quilt 'Geese on a lake' won a special merit in the Seasons Art Exhibition organised by the Light, Space & Time Online Gallery. Click on this link to see which other pieces were selected. Here is a picture of the Geese:

Geese are finished

And this is how the geese look now. I have to add the sleeve and than the quilt is ready to go into the mail to MN. Size is 14"x20" and the official title is 'Geese on a lake'.
I am linking this to Nina-Marie's Off the Wall Friday.

SAQA MN quilt contiued

The background is complete so it is time to start working on the geese and the grasses. For the geese I used Tsukineko ink on a Quick Fuse fabric sheet. When writing with a pen on fabric, the fabric stretches a bit. The advantage of this fabric sheet is that it does not do that. In the picture the geese are not yet fused to the background.
I also prepared the grasses. Different colors of green with a layer of bondaweb.
Next step is to fuse everything to the background and start stitching. Stay tuned :-)
