SAQA quilt

SAQA MN has a special exhibit during the 2013 Minnesota Quilt Show and I am participating in this exhibit. The theme is nature and as Minnesota is called the state of 10.000 lakes I am using a lake as my design. The picture shows what I have done till now. The whole background has been quilted. With the kind of facing I use it is easier to do this before adding the applique. Maybe not the usual sequence of working, but it works for me. Size is 14"x20". Next step is to add the applique.
I am linking this post to Nina Marie's Off the Wall Friday.

I love this one, as I love all blues, I find them restful and yet enervating. Congrats Wil.
