quilt swap
This season I participated in Kate's ALQS with 2 journal quilts. Here is a picture of one of the quilts I got in return:
It is made by Ramona Bates. Thanks Ramona! The second quilt I won has not yet arrived, but I know which one it is :-)). I was just too curious to wait for the mail and Kate was willing to tell me which ones would be mine.

quiltswap
No pictures of things I did today, but an announcement. Kate is organising a new quiltswap: ALQS3. It is a bit different than both previous swaps, so if you want to play read the rules first.
This is the quilt I received with ALQS1 (the picture on the ALQS blog shows the other side) made by Lynda Monk (Purple Missus):

And this I received with ALQS2 made byPippa (Hippopip):
As you can see, both lovely pieces. So if you have the time and if you love artquilts, contact Kate that you want to play along.

alqs2
I am participating in Kate's Another Little Quilt Swap, the second one, and yesterday I received this quilt made by Pippa. Isn't it a beauty! Pippa knew that I love black and white so she monoprinted the fabric using these colors. The feather is screen printed. Now I have to find a place to hang this quilt so that I can admire it all the time. Thanks Pippa for participating in this swap. For me it is also about time to send the quilt I made to ................

Above us only sky
The theme for the present Challenge quilt is Imagine. I decided to use John Lennon's song as inspiration source and specifically the line: Above us only sky. Imagine that you are lying in the grass and look up to the sky.
Although the due date is November, my quilt is already finished. Not really over achieving, but I had some time and an idea:-). Here are the pictures of the quilt:
And a detail:
As usual for this group the size of the quilt is 20"x20"(50x50 cm). I am able to use this quilt for the ALQS 2 swap I am participating in too as it matches the wishes of my partner.Friday, August 08, 2008
ALQS quilt has arrived

This spring Kate organised Another Little Quilt Swap in which I participated and today I received my quilt from this swap. It arrived late because the artist Lynda Monk - better known as Purple Missus - had to ship the quilt first to a photographer as it will be featured in Maggie Grey new book. Lynda made the quilt is such a way that both sides can be used as the front, see the pictures above. The quilt is 21"x21"(52 x 52 cm) and feels like it is made from leather. Isn't is gorgeous!! And it is all mine
At the moment it is hanging at my design wall to be certain that it is out of reach for my cats. I know where I want to hang it, but somebody has to drill holes in the wall first for me.
Here are some pictures of details:
