Abstract Autumn

The abstract quilt I made for Sky is the Limit gave me an idea for my trees theme for Voyage as well. Same idea but looking differently:
As background I used a snow dyed piece of fabric and for the trees and the falling leaves other hand dyed scraps out of my stash.
Technically speaking my quilts for this year for Voyage are completed, but I have no idea where I put the first one. As we are having a show in France next year, I might have to make a replacement for that one.
I am linking this post to Nina-Marie's Off the Wall Friday. Check out the link to see what other people did this week.

The composition is great, Wil, but it's the quilting that makes this piece; it's raining!

It looks like the wind to me! I can see the leaves blowing off the tree! Love this piece!

I agree with the others. This is a very effective piece. The background colors capture the mood and the quilting captures the motion.

Striking piece! Trees and leaves really stand out against the softer fluid background. Well done!

Really captures the feeling of wind and a driving rain in the quilting.

I really like this, too. You have captured that blowing leaves, pounding rain and wind feeling. You got a lot of movement into the piece. Well done!
