With my surfacing group we have a rust swap this month. While I am still looking for nice rusty stuff - which is difficult to find here - I settled to use pot scourers, the type without soap. I wrapped vinegar soaked fabric around them and this is how the fabric looks after a couple of days.

This must be so much fun to do. I received Quilting art magazine yesterday and I read an article about rusting fabric. Beautiful results! I'm not mad about getting my hands dirty with painting and gardening and other wet things, but this is such a thrill to see, I really must get over that!
